All LTC fare media will see an increase beginning January 1, 2020 – fare prices as of January 1, 2020.

In regard to options for using old tickets in the new year or exchanging your old tickets, please find below a list of Q&A’s that will hopefully help clarify any questions you may have.

When will my current tickets no longer be accepted?

Current tickets (adult, senior, student) will be accepted until the end of service on January 31, 2020 -providing these are accompanied by the additional cash payment – starting on January 1, 2020.

Can I exchange my current tickets for the new ones?

Beginning December 28, 2019 exchanges on tickets will be provided at LTC locations only. Exchanges will be made on intact strips of 5 tickets only (exchanges will not be accepted on individual tickets)

What is the last day that I can purchase tickets at the current price?

All LTC ticket vendors will no longer be selling 2019 tickets after December 27, 2019.

How much will my January monthly pass cost when I purchase it in December?

The new increased fare will be charged at time of purchasing your January monthly pass whether it is purchased in December 2019 or January 2020. 

If I have Stored Value on a smart card what will happen when I tap my card on January 1, 2020?

Beginning the start of service on January 1, 2020, all smart card readers will deduct the new fares automatically from Stored Value smart cards (depending on the category you qualify for).
A 90-minute transfer will also be automatically added to your Stored Value smart card at time of tapping.
