Regrettably, the 2020 Conventional Transit Service Plan that was to be implemented in September 2020 has been deferred for consideration in 2021. This was a difficult decision for the Commission to make however, given uncertainties with respect to both the operating budget as well as the manner in which ridership will rebound post-pandemic, it was the most appropriate decision.
Given the number of unknowns with respect to anticipated ridership levels and patterns, the Planning department will be spending the next few months conducting a detailed assessment of what was included in the 2020 service plan improvements as well as what changes may be necessary going forward to accommodate our anticipated ridership going forward. The draft 2021 Service Plan will be presented to the Commission at its October 28, 2020 meeting with public consultations to follow. The final recommended 2021 Service Plan will be tabled for the Commission’s approval at the January 2021 meeting. Watch for details about the public meetings coming this fall.
With regard to the service that will be provided this September, service levels have yet to be determined but will be communicated as soon as possible. We thank our customers for your understanding during this period of uncertainty and as we continue to provide the best service possible for Londoners.
