Please find below information with respect to where riders should wait and board at Rapid Transit Stations, where Express Routes are running in the centre running lanes and contraflow lanes on King Street.
Boarding Areas at Rapid Transit Stations
Temporary bus stop poles have been installed at Rapid Transit Stations which serve as a designated boarding point. These are located at the furthest point of the shelter in the direction of travel.
Bus Operators are instructed to pull forward to the bus stop pole and open the doors to play the external route announcement. This ensures that all customers are aware of which route has arrived. This directive also applies at multi-route stops which is especially helpful for those with visual impairments; at these stops buses are expected to wait until the vehicle in front of them has departed and then pull up to the bus stop sign.
London Transit continues to work with the City of London in assessing improved wayfinding solutions to better accommodate passengers of all abilities when boarding at Rapid Transit Stations.
Centre Running Lanes
Beginning Sunday September 6, Route 90 will be the first to operate in the centre running lane and will service the Rapid Transit Stations (northbound and southbound) at Wellington and South St.
Additional Rapid Transit Stations located in the centre running lanes will open as the construction wraps up and it is safe to operate. Stay tuned for more implementation dates.
Please note that only Express Route 90 will be servicing the Rapid Transit Stations in the centre running lanes. Routes 1 & 13 will still service curbside stops along Wellington Road.

Contraflow Lanes on King Street
As previously noted, until the roll out of Rapid Transit, Express Routes will operate in the Rapid Transit lanes as they become available and safe to do so. As of Spring 2025, Route 94 has operated on King St in both directions using the red bus only lanes and Rapid Transit Stations at Ontario St at King St, King St at Adelaide St and King St at Burwell.
Both the eastern and western lanes along King will eventually serve as the portion of the Rapid Transit.
