Using This Site

This site is best viewed at a resolution of at least 1024 x 768. The LTC’s web site makes use of JavaScript and Active Server Pages in order to provide a complete and interactive experience for our visitors. You can best experience the site with either Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6 or higher, Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or higher or any fully W3C compatible browser. If you experience a serious problem viewing our site please contact the LTC’s Webmaster or your technology manufacturer for assistance.

Opening / Viewing Adobe Acrobat (PDF) Files

Many documents on our site are Adobe Acrobat PDF format, and require Adobe Reader installed in order to view or print them. Click Here to download Adobe Reader.

Safari users: please note that our PDF schedules may not open properly in older versions of the Safari web browser. You can still view the schedules if you save them to your hard drive (click and hold, Save Target As…) first and then open them (outside Safari), or use an alternative web browser like Firefox.

If one of our PDF format schedules or publications will not open or display properly, please try one or both of the following tips:

Tip 1 – Change Adobe Reader Settings

Browser integration sometimes causes PDF files to load improperly or not at all. Follow these steps turn it off.

  1. Close Internet Explorer and start Adobe Reader.
  2. Click the Edit menu and select Preferences.
  3. Click on Internet or Options on the left side of the Preferences window.
  4. Uncheck the Display PDF in browser checkbox, and click OK.
  5. Close Adobe Reader, start Internet Explorer and try the link again.

Tip 2 – Save the File on your Hard Drive

Most adobe PDF display problems can be overcome by saving the schedule file on your computer, and then opening it. You can then open the file in the browser using the steps below, or simply Explore to the file on your computer and double-click it. Another benefit of saving the file is that you will no longer need to go online to view or print it.

In Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or later:

  1. Right-click (Windows) or hold down the mouse button (Mac OS) on the link to the PDF file, and then choose Save Target As…
  2. In the Save As dialog box, specify a name and location for the PDF file, and then click Save.
  3. Choose File > Open and click Browse.
  4. Choose All Files from the Files Of Type drop-down menu.
  5. Select the PDF file you saved in step 2 and click Open. Adobe Reader should open the PDF file inside the browser window.

In Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or later:

  1. Right-click (Windows) or hold down the mouse button (Mac OS) on the link to the PDF file, and choose Save Link As…
  2. In the Enter name of file to save as… dialog box, specify a name and location for the PDF file, and then click Save.
  3. Choose File > Open File… and click Browse.
  4. Choose All Files from the Files Of Type drop-down menu.
  5. Select the PDF file you saved in step 2 and click Open. Adobe Reader should open the PDF file inside the browser window.
