Recommendation

That the report be NOTED and FILED

Background

100in1day Canada is part of a global initiative with the goal to inspire change in cities across the country by compelling residents to activate 100 innovative, thought-provoking ideas into interventions to enhance their city all on one day.

100in1day (first known as100en1dia) was started in 2012 by a group of design students in Bogotá, Colombia that intended to launch six urban interventions that would maximize the potential of their city. On May 25, 2012, over 250 urban interventions took place in Bogotá, and a phenomenon was born. It has since spread to over 31 cities around the world.

The Urban League of London launched London’s participation in the 100in1day event in 2017 and London will again be participating this year on June 2, 2018.

As in 2017, London Transit will again be offering a one day discounted transit pass for 100in1day. The discounted pass is available for $5 and allows up to four people (maximum 2 adults) unlimited travel on all conventional and specialized transit routes on June 2, 2018. Passes are available at both London Transit offices and will be on sale until June 2, 2018.
