That the report be NOTED and FILED.


As indicated in Staff Report #4 dated November 29, 2023, one of the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act is to file a bi-annual compliance report with the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility.

Administration completed and filed the compliance report prior to the December 31 deadline, a copy of the report submission is set out in Enclosure I. As the report indicates, there was an area of non-compliance identified with respect to the corporate website and compliance with the World Wide Web Consortium Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 Level AA which requires an update to WordPress and a subsequent update to a number of plug-ins utilized on the site. This work is underway and anticipated to be completed in the coming weeks. Consistent with AODA requirements, this compliance report has also been posted on the corporate website.

Should these updates not resolve the issues identified in the compliance checker, further action will be taken. Work on the corporate website has been included in the Draft 2024 Work Program in order to ensure this issue is addressed. Administration will provide updates to the Commission with respect to this initiative as appropriate.
