Overview
The City of London has planned construction improvements for Western Rd between Platts Lane and Burnlea beginning May 11, 2026. During construction, transit service will be impacted due to lane reductions along Western Rd, the closure of Philip Aziz Ave, as well as the closure of the Western and Sarnia intersection.
Beginning July 6 until approximately July 20, the Western and Sarnia intersection will be closed. During this time, routes 2, 9, 33, 55, 93 & 94 will be on detour. Below are details on the detour and stop closure impacts.

July 6, 2026 until approx. July 20, 2026: Western and Sarnia intersection closure
With the anticipated closure of the Western and Sarnia intersection, Routes 2, 9, 33, 55, 93 & 94 will be on detour effective first bus July 6 until approximately end of service July 20.
During this time, the following detour routing is anticipated to begin the week of July 6:
Route 2 WB: North on Western, left on Platts, right on Trott to Coombs, right on Sarnia, left onWestern to regular route
Route 2 EB: South on Western, right on Sarnia, left on Castlegrove, right on Rippleton, right on Sarnia, right on Coombs to Trott, left on Platts, right on Western to regular route
Route 9 EB: East on Sarnia, right on Coombs to Trott, right on Platts to regular route
Route 9 WB: North on Platts, left on Trott to Coombs, right on Sarnia, left on Western, right on Lambton, loop around Alumni Circle, left on Western, right on Sarnia to regular route
Route 33 EB: North on Platts, left on Trott to Coombs, right on Sarnia, left on Western to regular route
Route 33 WB: South on Western, right on Sarnia, left on Castlegrove, right on Rippleton, right on
Sarnia, right on Coombs to Trott, right on Platts to regular route
