Staff Report #2 – 2025 Annual Drop-in Sessions

Staff Report #2

September 29, 2025

To All Commissioners

Re: 2025 Annual Drop-in Sessions

Recommendation

The report be RECEIVED for information.

Background

In 2011, the Commission approved holding annual drop-in sessions to provide stakeholders the opportunity to provide feedback on London’s public transit services. These meetings serve as a tool in promoting transparency and accountability and support informed dialogue and information sharing with stakeholders. In addition, these sessions meet a requirement of the AODA Regulation which calls for public consultation with members of the board.

The sessions are set-up to include information displays pertaining to relevant topics (eg. Accessibility Plan, upcoming Service Plans) with staff available to speak to each; however, attendees are encouraged to hold informal conversations regarding any topic relating to public transit services with Commissioners and staff members in attendance. Feedback gathered at these sessions is compiled and shared with the appropriate departments for consideration as applicable.

This year’s drop-in sessions will be held on Thursday November 6, 2025 at the Central Library in the Stevenson & Hunt A room, from 2pm to 4pm and again from 6pm to 8pm. This location has remained consistent over the past number of years as it is an accessible, central location with good access to transit as well as ample parking. It is intended that several Commissioners be in attendance at each of the sessions, calendar holds will be sent to all members of the Commission in the coming days.

Potential topics for information displays will include:

  • Draft 2026 Conventional Service Plan
  • Draft 2026 Specialized Service Plan
  • LTC’s 2026-2030 Accessibility Plan
  • Voice of the Customer Survey Results

Resource material supporting each item will be available at the sessions as appropriate. In addition to these sessions, other mechanisms are utilized to gather stakeholder feedback including the use of online surveys, Voice of the Customer surveys, and additional drop-in sessions as may be required.

Administration will begin promoting the meeting via social media, LTC website and on-board communication in the coming weeks.
