The Transit Engagement & Events Assistant is responsible for supporting London Transit’s public outreach, community engagement, and promotional initiatives during summer events across the city.
Current Opportunities:
- Full Time Temporary, new role for a 6-week period
- Starting July 6, 2026
- 30 hours per week
- Specific days and hours will vary based on operational needs and may include occasional evening and weekend event attendance. A schedule will be planned and communicated in advance.
Salary:
$20.00/hour

Key Responsibilities:
- Attend community events, festivals, and outreach locations across the city to provide transit riders with wayfinding assistance
- Event setup, transporting materials, and assisting with logistics to ensure everything runs smoothly.
- Distributing printed materials and promotional resources, engaging with community members in a friendly and approachable way to highlight transit programs and services, and helping create a welcoming space for conversation.
- Record observations, feedback, and engagement metrics to inform summary reports.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Duties are performed in compliance with LTC’s Policies and Procedures and Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
Requirements:
You must be between 15 and 30 years of age and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
**International students are not eligible participants**
As the objective of the CSJ program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student’s time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with riders and community members.
- Sound judgment when interacting with the public.
- Effective time management skills to manage event schedules and competing priorities.
- Able to represent London Transit professionally in public settings.
- Comfortable using technology to record data, track engagement, and complete reporting
- Able to work independently in community settings with supervisor support.
- Able to work a variable schedule, including daytime, evening, and weekend events.
- Able to work outdoors in public settings for extended periods.
- Professional and respectful conduct when engaging with the public
- Familiar with London Transit routes and London neighbourhoods is preferred and will be further developed through route and service training
- Have experience in customer service, community engagement, events, or public-facing roles is considered an asset
- Have an interest in transit, community development, or communications.
