Construction season is starting with work taking place at several locations across the city, which will impact bus stops and transit routes. Work includes major infrastructure renewal and road reconstruction projects which may require temporary detours and stop relocations. Riders may experience changes while this work is underway. Please see the project details and impacts below for more information on affected areas and timelines.

Western Rd Construction Impacts

The City of London will upgrade Western Rd and Philip Aziz Ave to support active transportation. The project will improve intersections and renew infrastructure to better accommodate pedestrians, cyclists, and transit users.

Anticipated to start the week of May 11 – find detour details.

  • Location: Western Rd between Burnlea and Platts Ln
  • Impacts: Routes 2, 9, 27, 31, 33, 93 & 94
    • Closed Stops: All stops between Burnlea and Platts Ln
  • Location: Philip Aziz between Western Rd and Huron Dr
  • Impacts: Route 94
    • Closed Stops: All Stops between Western Rd and Huron Dr

Highbury and Oxford Construction (Rapid Transit)

Construction on Oxford and Highbury includes rebuilding the roads between Fanshawe College and Highbury while adding dedicated transit lanes to improve transportation.

Additional work impacting the Fanshawe College Terminal and the Oxford at Fanshawe College Blvd intersection is anticipated to start the week of May 4 – find detour details.

  • Location: Oxford between Highbury and Fanshawe College
  • Impacts: Routes 4, 10, 17, 20, 25, 27, 36 & 91
    • Closed Stops: All stops between Highbury and Fanshawe College
    • With the closure of the Fanshawe College Terminal, a construction connector (Route 111) will be introduced operating between Oxford and Mornington and Fanshawe College to connect passengers to campus. Note, Routes 4, 20 and 91 will not continue past Oxford and Mornington. Route 17 will continue to Argyle Mall, but will not serve Fanshawe College.

Highbury Avenue South Road Rehabilitation

The City of London will be reconstructing Highbury Ave between Hamilton Rd and Bradley Ave. The project also includes the rehabilitation of the Commissioners Rd East and Bradley Ave bridges.

  • Location: Highbury between Hamilton and Bradley
  • Impacts: Route 10
    • Closed Stops: Stop 453 – Commissioners east of Deveron WB
  • Location: Commissioners between Highbury and Deveron
  • Impacts: Route 24
    • Route 24 is anticipated to experience schedule adherence delays

York St Infrastructure Renewal Project

The York St Infrastructure Renewal Project will focus on reconstructing York St from Wellington to Colborne, including intersection improvements. Construction will be completed in two stages:

  • Stage 1: York St between Wellington and Colborne
  • Stage 2: York St and Colborne St intersection

  • Location: York between Wellington and Colborne
  • Impacts: Route 7
    • Closed Stops: All Stops on York between Wellington and Colborne

East London Link (Phase 5)

The East London Link is a multi-year infrastructure project that will rebuild roads between downtown and Fanshawe College while adding dedicated transit lanes and improving transportation.

East London Link Phase 5 includes work along Dundas Street from McCormick Boulevard to just east of Highbury Avenue.

  • Location: Dundas between Highbury and Egerton
  • Impacts: Routes 2 & 94
    • Closed Stops: All Stops on Dundas between Egerton and Highbury

Wellington Gateway (Phase 2)

The Wellington Gateway is a multi-year infrastructure project that will rebuild roads between downtown and White Oaks Mall while adding dedicated transit lanes and improving transportation.

Anticipated to start the week of March 16 – find detour details.

  • Location: Wellington between Basline and Wilkins, Commissioners between High and the Victoria Hosptial Entrance
  • Impacts: Routes : 13, 24, 90
    • Closed Stops: All Stops along Wellington between Baseline and Wilkins will be closed, Temporary stops will be located on Wellington at Commissioners for north/south buses and on Commisisoners at Wellington for east/west buses
